Wastewater/Utility Project Engineer/Manager - Shreveport

Job Description:
Successful candidate will have 7yrs+ experience in civil/environmental engineering including
pipeline planning, design and construction; overall wastewater treatment plant operations,
general process understanding, and mechanical systems construction experience; and a solid
understanding of wastewater/water utility management.
Requirements:
•
 
BS or MS in Civil Engineering or equivalent engineering related field
•
 
louisiana PE or ability to obtain within 6 months
Candidate should be able to:
•
 
Demonstrate general understanding of collection and transmission system layout,
configuration and operation
•
 
Develop and monitor design and construction schedules using standard software
(Mircosoft Project, Excel) based upon experience and input from senior technical
specialist and client. It is anticipated multiple projects will be in development and
construction at the same time.
•
 
Review plans and specifications, provide quantities, assess constructability, cross-check
with other documents. Work is expected to include comparison of City of Shreveport
standards and the Measurement and Payment specifications section to contract
documents.
•
 
Develop and edit technical specifications and standard details based upon input from
manufacturers and senior technical specialists.
•
 
Conduct task meetings including developing a meeting agenda, providing meeting
summary, and facilitating meetings with a small number of attendees
•
 
Communicate effectively (written, verbal) with senior management and client to move
project and deliverables forward. Communication requirements will include reports,
letters, memorandum, presentation materials, presentation speaking roles, and other
forms of verbal and writing project communications.
•
 
Monitor construction progress for several projects that are being constructed
simultaneously including review of contractors’ pay applications, coordinate with field
staff to confirm progress and quantities, track overall construction budget and draw,
and notify senior management of deviations from expected progress
•
